State and Federal Updates
Weekly Enrollment Snapshot
From November 1, 2015 – January 2, 2016, 218,394 individuals have signed-up for health coverage through HealthCare.gov in Wisconsin. This well exceeds Wisconsin’s enrollment rate from the previous open enrollment period. Nationally, enrollment during OE3 is also outpacing OE2. Take a look at this fact sheet for more information. These figures represent the number of plan selections, not necessarily the number of people who have effectuated their coverage.  

African American Week of Action: January 11th
We’re exiting the “Give the Gift of Health” week of action and moving into the African American Week of Action. Take a look at these resources from Enroll America.

DHS: Policy and System Changes as a Result of Same-Sex Marriage Rulings
Late December, DHS released new guidance relating to eligibility-related procedures and policies for Wisconsin’s public assistance programs. Legally married spouses of the same sex are to be treated the same as opposite-sex spouses for all purposes in the administration of the Child Care, Wisconsin Works (W-2), Medicaid, BadgerCare Plus, SeniorCare, FoodShare, and Caretaker Supplement (CTS) programs.
